Real Imager 8
Breast cancer detection device
The Real Imager 8 had to balance patient comfort with the technician's working posture. The technician needs to watch both the screen and the patient: a central screen blocks the view, a low screen strains the neck, and a side screen makes patients turn away from the cameras. The solution places the technician centrally with the screen angled beside them, so both can be monitored with minimal repetitive movement.
For the look and feel, an online questionnaire with 270 respondents informed a device that feels approachable while remaining professional. The rounded white body seems to embrace the patient, and Radiant Orchid accents with schematic flowers suggest health and vitality.
Patients get their own progress screen during the exam, which keeps them informed, reduces anxiety and helps them feel involved.
