Services

From user research to production‑ready design.

Liberela works with medtech companies and startups on medical and aesthetic devices. You can bring the studio in for a single stage, such as a usability study or an industrial design concept, or for the whole path from the first user interviews to a design that is ready for manufacturing.

What the studio does

Services

Physical products only: device bodies, enclosures, handpieces, carts and accessories. Medical devices first, plus consumer and hi tech products.

01

Human factors and usability

Understanding who uses the device, where and how, and designing to reduce use errors.

  • User research with clinicians and patients
  • Workflow and use environment analysis
  • Ergonomics and interaction with the device
  • Usability evaluation with real users at each stage
02

Industrial and product design

A form and design language that works in the clinic and earns the trust of clinicians and patients.

  • Concept development and design directions
  • Form, proportions and product architecture
  • Colors, materials and finishes
  • Product families and brand consistency
03

Research and market trend analysis

Grounding the brief in evidence before design starts.

  • Competitive and market landscape
  • Design trend analysis for the device category
  • Defining requirements from user needs
04

Product development and prototyping

Turning the concept into models and prototypes that can be tested and discussed.

  • 3D modeling and renderings
  • Mockups and appearance models
  • Prototypes for user testing and design reviews
05

Design for manufacturing

Taking the design to a production‑ready state, with a focus on plastic parts and enclosures.

  • Design for plastic manufacturing
  • Enclosure design, assembly and service access
  • Working with engineering teams and suppliers

How a project runs

The FULE method, step by step.

Every project follows the FULE user‑centered methodology, developed through research in human‑system interaction. Work is planned in phases with clear milestones.

  1. FunctionalityWhat the device must do, for whom, and in which clinical setting.
  2. UsabilityHuman factors from the start: workflow, ergonomics, interface, and reducing human error.
  3. Look and FeelA form and design language that earns the trust of clinicians and patients.
  4. EvaluationTesting with real users at each stage, so decisions rest on evidence.

Who it is for

Medtech companies and startups.

Clients include Candela, Acclaro Medical, Bioness, ReDent Nova, Freen Medical and Novoxel. The studio is led by Dr. Ela Liberman Pincu, an industrial designer with a PhD in human factors, so research and design are done by the same person, not handed between teams.
